Adult Actors With Special Needs

Explore our world of wonder and accomplisment

Our Program Today!

Each year, a performance takes place (typically the weekend before Thanksgiving) where actors with Autism, Down’s Syndrome, Sensory Impairment, Learning Challenges, Attention Deficit and other challenges are given a chance to perform in front of family, friends and the West Suburban community.

As a newly formed 501(C)3 corporation, we are a charitable organization recognized for providing adults with developmental disabilities and other special need individuals an opportunity to participate on stage in theatrical productions and related activities. We are excited about this venture to grow our program giving our participants the best opportunity to share their talents.

Our actors have ranged in age from 22 years of age to entering their golden years. Despite the age range and different challenges, our actors encourage each other, celebrating each accomplishment made. They master new skills, which may be overlooked in another environment. The things that are taken for granted are such monumental achievements here. This program offers acting, dance, movement, musical theatre, and critical thinking skills which have been a vital role to their success on stage and in life.

Our Program has improved:

  • Communication skills

  • Focus and concentration

  • Self-esteem, self-expression and independence

  • Flexibility and adapting to new situations or directions

  • Social skills and relationship building

  • And most of all, meeting new friends
